UX Redesign for an Operational Dashboard

Reworked an operations dashboard so teams could complete critical tasks with less confusion.

UX Operations Frontend

Overview

An operations dashboard handled incidents, approvals, and live controls but had become difficult to navigate during urgent situations.

Challenge

Important actions were hard to find, state changes were unclear, and shift handovers often failed because screens were interpreted differently by different roles.

Approach

We interviewed operators, mapped task paths, and rebuilt interaction flows around intent, urgency, and failure recovery.

Architecture

The frontend moved to consistent interaction patterns and role-aware navigation, while interface behavior was aligned with backend data timing.

Outcome

Teams could act with more confidence during incidents, and support overhead dropped because the UI was easier to interpret.

Lessons

Operational interface work should be treated as systems design, not a visual cleanup task.
